I found this 1970’s Mk 2 chopper abandoned in a skip in Notting Hill, London in 1998.
I rode it back to my house and then used it on and off for several years.
I then stored it in a mate’s house where it languished unloved for 20+ years until recently where it was shipped back to NZ.
It’s completely original and all there apart from the “springs” on the rear struts beneath the seat which are missing, a missing handlebar grip and a non original front tyre. It’s also missing its side stand which has broken off.
The rear tyre is original and both still hold air after I pumped them up.
Needless to say these bikes are extremely collectible and fetch big money with almost every piece available (including all the transfers) online through a worldwide community of enthusiasts.
The gears even work (and the brakes) though it would benefit from a strip down to be properly rideable. But I did manage a quick trip down memory lane before I took these pics!
Up to you if you wanted to restore to new or you could just enjoy its rat rod patina.
